Judith Caseley

Judith Caseley has written and illustrated over forty books for children and young adults, published by Harper Collins, Farrar Straus Giroux, and recently, Tanglewood Press, and is part of the Geo Palette Color System’s writing staff. After spending ten years at the Bewitched Salon desk overseeing clients’ needs, Judith wrote and illustrated the picture book, In Style with Grandma Antoinette, later titled Beauty Day, a bird’s eye view of the world of hair styling through Rosie, a little girl who visits her stylist grandma. Based on watching colorist, Antoinette Benincasa, a Palette artist, interact with her grandchildren at the salon, Caseley wrote a fictionalized version of life at a busy salon.

All of Judith Caseley’s books have nuggets of truth in them that she spins into fiction. “Watching George Mennella develop the Geo Palette Hair System has made me share his vision of hair as living art. The salon is a microcosm of life itself, with its art and drama, and gives me a wealth of material for new creativity.” Recently, Caseley began a series of mosaics and paintings that several salon clients have purchased for their homes. “It makes perfect sense to display paintings in a salon,” says Caseley. “The Palette itself creates living art, and clients enjoy watching a series of paintings come to life on Bewitched walls. Caseley’s website is www.judithcaseley.com, and she is available for commissions.
